Off the Hook

Some South Jersey restaurants, long accustomed to forming relationships with local farmers are now turning their sights to New Jersey seafood and fisheries as well. “It was just a matter of time before chefs got together to celebrate seafood, both for its nutritional value and the many creative ways it can be served.” explains Chef Joe Palombo of Mirabella Café.

That special celebration called — “Off the Hook” will be held by a handful of restaurants spanning three separate counties — Camden, Gloucester and Burlington — Monday, November 16th through Thursday, November 19th. Each restaurant will offer a 4 course menu for $30.00, spotlighting the culinary diversity of seafood.

“It’s just one more way to spotlight New Jersey.” explains Chef Mark Smith, whose Mexican influenced restaurant, The Tortilla Press will be participating in the event. All restaurants will feature as much seafood from New Jersey as possible, supplementing it when necessary with some out of state product. If you love seafood, you’ll want to make dinner plans accordingly.
